It's not mandatory, but we do ask kindly for a donation of £4 to cover costs for pens and paper and paint and such, which are shockingly expensive.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself! We will provide all artistic doo-dahs.
So, how does it work?
We have different fun drawing games on each table. Instructions are provided but we'll gladly do a bad job of trying to explain the rules of any of our games. We will call out every half hour or so for people to move around so everyone can have a go at everything.
What about this big white/black board that everyone's sitting around and throwing paint at?
Our Communal Doodle™ is a space where you can get creative and draw anything you like.
Where is it held?
The Snug (smøl room) in the Tobacco Factory, Bristol BS3 1TF
How often do you run these?
First Tuesday of every month.
What time does it start?
The event starts at 7:45pm.
What time does it finish?
We normally will wind up around 10pm but generally it's whenever we get kicked out.
Do I have to be good at drawing?
No! We have people of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals.
Do I have to be good at drinking?
No! We have people of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals.
Can I take photos of my work?
Of course! We'll happily share your creations if you put them on Instagram mentioning @drinkndrawbristol
Are you affiliated with the Tobacco Factory?
The Tobacco Factory are kind enough to let us trash their space for free, but we run the event entirely on our own.
Can I bring my dog/cat/terrapin/land-eel?
Assuming they don't shit themselves around crowds then go ahead.
Can I bring my own drinks?
No. It's a pub.
Can I bring my own drawing materials?
Yes, bring whatever you like!
Is this a high-brow event where we will learn interesting and important skills?
Good lord no! This is entirely an event for fun, there will certainly be no learning.
I have just arrived and I'm sitting here confused. Should I just start?
Yes, there are instructions for each game on the table, please feel free to get cracking on them. We don't really directly curate the event, but if you need any help we will gladly try our best to poorly explain the games.
What do I do if there's no space in the Snug?
We will try and accommodate everyone. If there's no room in the Snug, we will try and bring materials to you at a table in the main room. Please make yourself known and try and sit close to the Snug so we don't lose you!
Who's that nerd taking photos? What's that for?
We will be taking photos for the website and social media so that people can vicariously live the DnD experience. If you don't want to be in them, just let us know and we will gladly exclude those photos.
